Steps to recover Chromebook using USB Drive:


  1. Power Off Chromebook
  2. Press and hold Esc + Refresh , then press Power . 
  3. Let go of Power. 
  4. When a message shows on the screen, let go of the other keys.
  5. You'll see one of these messages:
  1. "Chrome OS is missing or damaged. Please insert a recovery USB stick or SD card."
  2. "Please insert a recovery USB stick or SD card."
  1. Insert the USB flash drive or SD card that you used to create recovery media.
  2. Follow the on-screen instructions.
